Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne will inaugurate the Commanders’ Conference of EAC

Shillong, May 14: The Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne PVSM AVSM VM ADC, Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee (COSC) and Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), accompanied by Mrs Kiran Browne, President Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA) will arrive at Shillong on two days’ official visit to inaugurate the Commanders’ Conference of Eastern Air Command on Wednesday 15 May. They will be received by Air Marshal RK Sharma AVSM VM, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command along with Mrs Chitralekha Sharma, President AFWWA (Regional) at Headquarters Eastern Air Command. The CAS will be addressing all the Commanders of Eastern Air command at the Annual EAC Commanders’ Conference.

In a distinguished career spanning forty years, the Chief of Air Staff has flown a wide variety of jet aircrafts including Hunters, all variants of MIG-21, Jaguar and SU-30K. He is a fighter Combat Leader and has served as an instructor at the Tactics and Air Combat development Establishment (TACDE). Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne has rich experience of operational flying, training and staff assignments. A graduate of the Air Command and Staff College, USA, Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne has held many key appointments before taking over as the Chief of the Air Staff on 31 Jul 2011.

Mrs Kiran Browne, President AFWWA, will participate in various welfare functions, which are being organized by Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regional). As President AFWWA, her focus has always been the empowerment of women in the Air Force. She also takes keen interest in ensuring medical and educational facilities for differently abled children and the needy. She will be addressing the Board of Management Meeting of AFWWA (R) tomorrow.(SP News)
