Shillong December 27: All Meghalaya Journalists Union (AMJU) has condemned the killing of Manipur journalist Thangjam Nanao Singh associated with Prime Time channel in police firing on December 23 in Manipur.
AMJU has asked the Manipur Government to adequately compensate the relatives of Singh and to punish the policemen involved in the crime.
Killing of journalist is highly condemnable as he was performing his duty. This act of violence is an infringement on the rights of media persons to work free and fair in any circumstances. AMJU also takes this opportunity to convey condolences to the bereaved family.(SP News)
