Shillong, Feb 18: Appealing the citizens of the state to cast their votes judiociously, the Hynniewtrep National People’s Federation (HNPF) in a press conference called upon the people to choose a leader who works and deserves the position rightfully.
“Most of the candidates make tall promises before the elections, but everything is forgotten after the elections,” said HNPF President, Ronnie Rani, even as he appealed the public to be cautious and thoughtful before electing anyone as their representative.
Dwelling upon the involvement of money in luring voters besides other un fair means, Rani said “ People should cast their votes conscientiously in the forthcoming elections. Under no circumstances should a responsible citizen vote for a candidate who is known to be corrupt, even if no specific case is pending against him”.

Referring to the long pending border issue, Rani said “With numerous agitations made on the border issue, nothing has been done yet to resolve it” adding “But promises have been made and we shall see the outcome after the elections”.
Meanwhile the body has urged voters to compel the political parties to clarify their stand on various issues faced and not to be scared to stand up for their rights.(SP News)
