SHILLONG, FEB 8:On 7th Feb’ 2013 at about 1730 hrs, on specific input, BSF troops of BOP Chandaboi, Ex-132 Bn BSF deployed in West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya apprehended one Bangladeshi FICN racketeer namely Md Hassan aged 23 years, s/o Md Salam, r/o vill-Bakakura, po-Baramari, ps-NalitaBari, Distt-Sherpur (Bangladesh) near BP No 1089/MP while he was trying to infiltrate into India from Bangladesh. During search, party recovered FICN face value Rs 40,000/- (Denomination 20x 1000 & 40×500) from his possession.
The seized FICN was being smuggled from Bangladesh and was meant for circulation in the Indian market. BSF is keeping a strict vigil/surveillance and having effective intelligence network along the India-Bangladesh border to nab the FICN racketeers
Apprehended person and seized items have been handed over to concerned department for further disposal and legal action as per law of the land. (SP News)
