Bangladeshi National apprehended by the BSF while trying to cross to India

 

Jowai, May 13: One Bangladeshi national identified as Anamuddin (28 yrs) S/o Abdul Malik, r/o vill- Kuargori,Ps- Kanaighat ,Distt- Sylhet (Bangladesh) was apprehended by BSF troops of BOP Khaliang in East jaintia Hills distt of Meghalaya, while he was trying to cross over International Border. During search, a voter ID No. -155 with fake name as AtuarRahman, S/o- Late Yasim Ali, Vill – Bairabgar, PO – Bazarghat, PS – Rattabari, Distt Karimganj(Assam) issued by DC Karimganj(Assam), dated 15th Nov, 2006, Indian currency Rs. 27,580/-, one Mobile with one Indian and one BD SIM recovered from his possession.

In another incident, two Bangladeshi smugglers were also apprehended by BSF troops of BOP Dawki in West Jaintia Hillsdistt of Meghalaya, while they were trying to cross the International Border near BP No. 1273/6-S on 12th May 2014. The apprehended persons were identified as MdRippan (20 yrs), S/oBachuMiya, r/o Vill- Sanakhal, Ps- Goinghat, Distt- Sylhet, Bangladesh and MdSippan (23 yrs) S/o GulamHussain, r/o Vill- Rousulpur, Ps- Gainghat, Distt- Sylhet, Bangladesh. During search,fourteen Btls Liquor, Indian Currency Rs. 1910/-, BD Taka 100/- and two Mobile with two Bangladeshi SIMrecovered from their possession.

During last week, BSF troops on Meghalaya borderwith Bangladesh also seized 346 Btls Liquor, 100.34 Cft Wooden log , 08 Nos Cattle heads and other contraband items worth over 04 Lacs while being smuggled from India to Bangladesh.

Apprehended person and seized items have been handed over to concerned department for further disposal and legal action as per law of the land.(SP News)
