Shillong, November 12: on specific input, BSF troops of BOP Hangaria, Ex-98 Bn BSF deployed in East Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya apprehended 04 Bangladeshi illegal immigrants while they were infiltrating from Bangladesh to India near BP No. 1310/10-R.
During the search the BSF got Bangladesh Currency 1,315/- Taka. During the preliminary questioning, apprehended Bangladeshi illegal immigrants revealed that they intended to go to Coal quaries in Khlerihat coal mine areas in East Jaintia Hills Distt.
They also revealed that one Bangladeshi tout namely Hussain (35 yrs) r/o Vill- Bahurbagh, Ps- Kanaighat, Distt- Sylhet (BD) facilitated the cross border movement in lieu of 1500/- BD Taka per head.
It is pertinent to mention that the Meghalaya Frontier, BSF is keeping a strict vigil on the border to check the infiltration of the illegal immigrants into the Indian Territory. During the month of Nov’ 2012, the BSF troops have apprehended 23 Nos of illegal immigrants from the Meghalaya border with the Bangladesh.
Apprehended persons and seized items have been handed over to concerned department for further disposal and legal action as per law of the land.(SP News)
