Bangladeshi smuggler apprehended by the BSF

Shillong, January 16: On 15th Jan 2013, on specific input, BSF troops of BOP Rynkua Ex-44 Bn deployed in East Khasi Hills distt of Meghalaya apprehended one Bangladeshi smuggler namely Saddam Hussain aged 20 yrs, s/o Abdul Rashid, r/o Vill- Edukona, PS- Dwara Bazar, Distt- Sunamganj (Bangladesh), while he was trying to exfiltrate from India to Bangladesh near BP No 1228/4-s. During the search, Ops party recovered 1680 packet Biri worth Rs 16,800/- and BD Taka 50/- from his possession. The seized items were being smuggled to Bangladesh by the apprehended smuggler.

Besides above, BSF troops of Meghalaya Ftr, also seized 1.750 Kg Hemp, 556 Btls Liquor , Country boats and other contraband items of the estimated cost of Rs. 2,51,000 ( Rupees Two lacs Fifty one Thousand only) during the last week.

The apprehended person along with seized items have been handed over to concerned department for legal action.(SP News)
