Shillong, March 09:On 8th March 2013 at about 1100 hrs, on specific intelligence input, OP party of BOP Silbari, ex-132 Bn BSF deployed in South Garo Hills district apprehended one Bangladeshi illegal immigrant namely Lukman Islam , aged 19 yrs, s/o Abdul Samad, r/o Vill- Balashpur, Po-Kewatkhali, Ps-Kutwali, Distt- Mymensingh (Bangladesh) near BP No-1123/1-S, while he was trying to infiltrate into India from Bangladesh. During search, Ops party recovered 01 Nokia mobile phone with BD SIM and BD Taka 1030/- from his possession.
Besides, on 8th March 2013 at about 2200 hrs, on specific intelligence input, Patrolling party of ex- 132 Bn BSF deployed in South Garo Hills district apprehended 02 Bangladeshi illegal immigrants, while they were exfiltrating from India to Bangladesh.
In another incident on 9th March 2013 at about 0935 hrs, on specific intelligence input, Patroling party of BOP Baghmara ex- 36 Bn BSF deployed in South Garo Hills district apprehended 04 Bangladeshi illegal immigrants near BP No-1151/4-S, while they were trying to infiltrate into India from Bangladesh. The details of the apprehended Bangladeshi illegal immigrants is as follows:-
a) Puser Sangma aged 26 yrs s/o Kururisin Sangma r/o Vill- Vijaypur, PO- Kanikong , Ps- Durgapur, Distt- Netrakona (Bangladesh)
b) Hemanto Sangma aged 55 yrs s/o (L) Mudins Sangma, r/o Vill- Vijaypur, PO- Kanikong , Ps- Durgapur, Distt- Netrakona (Bangladesh)
c) Srikan Sarkar aged 28 yrs s/o Diresh Kanta Sarkar r/o Vill- Vijaypur, PO- Kanikong , Ps- Durgapur, Distt- Netrakona (Bangladesh)
d) Jiban Sangma aged 23 yrs s/o Benjamin Marak r/o Vill- Vijaypur, PO- Kanikong , Ps- Durgapur, Distt- Netrakona (Bangladesh)
Besides above, BSF troops of Meghalaya Ftr, also seized 1 Trucks, 284 btls Phensedyl, 803 btls Liquor, 7.6 Kg Hemp, 33 nos Cattle, Boat and other contraband items of the estimated cost of Rs. 48,67,000 (Rupees Forty Eight lacs Sixty Seven Thousand only) during the last two weeks.
Apprehended persons and seized items have been handed over to concerned departments for further disposal and legal action as per law of land.(SP News)
