Shillong, April 23: On 22nd Apr 2013, on specific input, BSF troops of BOP Chandaboi ex-132 Bn deployed in West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya apprehended one Indian FICN racketeer namely Nalini Marak aged 57 yrs , s/o Jalna Rikhill R/o Vill- Matchkogere, Po-Arai mile, Ps-Arai Mile, Dist-West Garo Hills (Meghalaya) near BP No-1112/4-S. During search, party recovered FICN face value Rs 20,000/- (Denomination 15x 1000 & 10 x 500), Indian currency Rs.113/- and one mobile phone with one Indian SIM from his possession.
The seized FICN was being smuggled from Bangladesh and was meant for circulation in the Indian market. BSF is keeping a strict vigil/surveillance and having effective intelligence network along the India-Bangladesh border to nab the FICN racketeers.(SP News)
