Shillong, April 05: On 4th April 2013, on specific intelligence input, special patrolling party of BOP Rajai, ex-73 Bn BSF deployed in South West Khasi Hills district apprehended one Bangladeshi illegal immigrant namely Badal Hajong, aged 23 yrs, s/o Modan Hajong, r/o Vill- Atathgram, Ps-Durgapur, Distt- Netrakona (Bangladesh) near BP No-1208/5-S, while he was trying to exfiltrate into Bangladesh from India. During search, Ops party recovered 01 knife and Rs. 130 Indian currency from his possession.
In another incident, on 4th April 2013, on specific intelligence input, special patrolling party of BOP Rajai, ex-73 Bn BSF deployed in South West Khasi Hills district apprehended two Bangladeshi illegal immigrants namely Md Phukan aged 24 yrs, s/o Md Safiq, and Saddam Hussain aged 16 yrs, s/o Md Jasim r/o Vill- Chandpur, Ps-Thahirpur, Distt- Sunamganj (Bangladesh) near BP No-1200/5-S, while they were trying to infiltrate into India from Bangladesh. During search, Ops party recovered 02 Nos torchlight with 20 Nos cell and one Blanket from his possession.
Besides above, BSF troops of Meghalaya Ftr, also seized 154 btls Liquor, 15 nos Cattle, Forest product and other contraband items of the estimated cost of Rs. 6,82,000 (Rupees Six lacs Eighty two Thousand only) during the last week.
On 4th Apr 2013, on specific input, BSF troops of 156 Bn deployed in South West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya apprehended one Indian FICN racketeer namely Nodil D Sangma, aged 45 years, s/o Late Nonging Marak, r/o vill- Miringipara, ps- Mahenderganj, Distt- South West Garo Hills, Meghalaya near village Miringipara. During search, party recovered FICN face value Rs 8,000/- (Denomination 16 x 500) from his possession.
The seized FICN was being smuggled from Bangladesh and was meant for circulation in the Indian market. BSF is keeping a strict vigil/surveillance and having effective intelligence network along the India-Bangladesh border to nab the FICN racketeers.
On 4th April 2013, on specific intelligence input, vehicle checking party of BOP Kuliang, ex-98 Bn BSF deployed in East Jaintia Hills district apprehended one Bangladeshi illegal immigrant namely Md Jolil aged 33 yrs, s/o Late abdul Latif r/o Vill- Nihalpur, Ps-Kanaighat, Distt- Sylhet (Bangladesh) near BP No-1324/MP, while he was trying to infiltrate into India from Bangladesh. During search, party recovered Indian currency Rs 1,000/-, 01 Mobile with 02 SIMs (01 BD and 01 Indian) and 01 I/Card issued from Circle officer, Kathighoda Cacher (Assam) from his possession.
In another incident on 4th April 2013 at about 1500 hrs, on specific input, vehicle checking party of BOP Umkiang ex-98 Bn BSF deployed in East Jaintia Hills district recovered one bag lying on the road side approx 50 mtrs at Sonapur Bridge.
During the search following items were recovered from the bag. Country made gun, Old Army camouflaged uniforms five numbers. Apprehended persons and seized items have been handed over to concerned departments for further disposal and legal action as per law of land.(SP News)
