Shillong, Jan 11: Acting on tip off information, the Border Security Force managed to apprehen three militants belonging to the proscribe Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) were arrested by on Friday.
The arrested persons were identified as Nowel Momin (25), Arbin Marak (20) and Sukumar R Sangma (23).
On conducting search the BSF recovered two 9 mm revolvers and extortion notes from their possession. Apart from the revolvers and demand notes, 19 rounds of ammunition, a mobile phone and Rs 2,050 were recovered from the three militants. A source said the militants confessed to their involvement in a number of extortion and other illegal activities during preliminary interrogation. (SPNEWSAGENCY)
