BSF Meghalaya Frontier personal awarded police medal

Shillong, August 14: On the eve of Independence Day Border Security Force has been conferred upon with  01 Police Medal for Gallantry, six President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service and 43 Police Medals for Meritorious Service. The list includes following personnel of BSF Meghalaya frontier.

The BSF personal who are awarded with the president’s police medal for distinguish service include, shri Sudesh Kumar IPS, Inspector General, he has been rectenly posted out to the headquater as DG BSF at New Delhi, SHRI  Surendra Singh Brijwal Deputy Inspector General (medical) composit hospital Shillong.

And the BSF personal who  received police medals for meritorious service  DR.  Abnish Chandra Bhardwajan, Chief  Medical Officer (SG), FTR HQ, SHG , Shri Yashwant Singh, Inspector (MIN), 98 BatatalionBSF, and Shri Mohinder Singh Bisht, Inspector (COMN), 108 Battalion.

The Presidents Medal for Distinguished Service is awarded to the Police personnel on the occasion of Independence and Republic Day in recognition of a special distinguished record in Police service or in the Central Police Security Organisation.

All police personnel in the country with at least 21 years of service are eligible for this award. On the other hand Police Medal for Meritorious Service is also awarded to the Police personnel every year on the occasion of Independence and Republic Day in recognition of the meritorious record in Police service or in the Central Police Security Organistaion with at least 15 years of service(SP News)
