Shillong Aug 02: on specific input regarding smuggling of Boats, BSF troops of BOP Gumaghat ex-73 Bn deployed in South West Khasi Hills distt of Meghalaya launched a special operation and seized 45 Nos Boats worth Rs. 13,50,000/- approx. near BP No 1203/MP.
The Bangladeshi people, in boats come inside Indian territory in the Indian river Jadukatta and indulge in illegal picking up of stones from the river.
In the last three months BSF has seized 159 Nos boats. It is pertinent to mention here that BSF is maintaining zero firing on the border even in such circumstances, whereas the Bangladeshi people attack and injure the BSF personnel.
Seized items have been handed over to concerned department for further disposal.(SP News)
