Shillong, May 28: on specific input regarding smuggling of Phensdyle, BSF troops of BOP Nongjri ex-108 Bn deployed in East Khasi Hills distt of Meghalaya launched a special operation and seized 24 Btl of Phensdyle worth Rs. 1,668/- (one thousand six hundred sixty eight only) near BP No 1259/8-S, while it was being smuggled to Bangladesh.
It is pertinent to mention here that it has always been the endeavor of BSF to keep a strict vigil and deny any smuggling of psychotropic substances/ narcotics/alcohol to Bangladesh and in this task BSF is also seeking the help of BGB.
Besides above, BSF troops of Meghalaya Ftr, also seized 226 Btl of Liquor, 39 Nos boat and other contraband items of the estimated cost of Rs. 13,34,425/- (Rupees Thirteen lacks, Thirty four Thousand four hundred and twenty five only) during the last week.
Seized items have been handed over to concerned department for further disposal and legal action as per law of the land.(SP News)
