Shillong, June 28: the members of the bsf wives’ welfare association (bwwa), led by neeru kumar, president, bwwa, meghalaya frontier, visited the old aged people at the sisters of charity – mercy home at demthring on friday.
During the visit the BWWA members enquired about their well-being and donated certain utility items like geyser and eatables etc. Established during 1973, this old age home welcomes and looks after the destitute senior citizens who have nobody to look after them.
The BWWA members interacted with the inmates of the old age home to better appreciate their requirements; especially relating to medical care.
With an endeavour of BWWA to reach out to the needy sections of society and provide them the required assistance an assuarance was given by the President, BWWA, Meghalaya Frontier who promised to provide the spectacles to the inmates requiring the visual aids.(SP News)
