Shillong, Feb 13: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came down heavily on the Congress party alleging that Congress candidates fielding from Garo Hills in the upcoming assembly polls use the support of militant groups.
Claiming that the candidates of the Congress party is using the support of militant outfits, Kiren Rijiju of BJP and former Member of Parliament from Arunachal Pradesh said that it is very unfortunate to have such a party in the state.
“The Congress in its manifesto is claiming to wipe out militant group in the state”, Rijiju said adding that the question arise as to how can such the party do that when its candidates are using their support.
Hitting hard on the congress party for its political agenda in terming the BJP as a non Christian party, Rijiju stated that the it is just a clear cut allegations.
“A good number of candidates from our party belongs to the Christian faith”, he said even as he said that Congress is a party which is unreliable.
While claiming that Congress as an unrelaible, Rijiju said that most of the people are fed up of the party and as it is in most of the states in the country Congress has been wipe out
However, Rijiju is hopeful that its candidates will secure victory in this coming election
It may be mentioned here that the BJP field 13 candidates in the coming Meghalaya assembly election. In 1998 the BJP gets three candidates to the assembly, 2003 two candidates in 2008 one candidates.
“This time we are hopeful to improve the tallies in the coming election”, Rijiju added.
BJP released its party Manifesto
Shillong, Feb 13: The Bharatiya Janata Party on 13rd February, 2013 released its party manifestos for the coming Meghalaya Legislative Assembly election with hopes to make its presence felt once again in Meghalaya, and claims to provide better governance then the congress.
The manifesto released by the BJP on Wednesday, Bharatiya janata Party (BJP) leader Kiren Rijiju hoped that the party would improve their tally in the ensuing election and said, “ People have come a long way in understanding the ideologies of BJP.”
Pointing out that there will a hung assembly with no absolute majority, he said, “ BJP will play a important role to fit either in the opposition or ruling.”
Harping on the issue of LPG, Rijiju said, “The economy of the common people is completely dislodge by the congress government.”
He however claimed that his party will provide universal subsidy besides providing all round growth and development of the state and the country.
