Shillong, July 5:The Department of Posts is making renewed effort to computerize and modernize postal services to ensure better facilitating customer services. Smt. Padmini Gopinath, Secretary to Govt. of India and Chairperson, Postal Services Board is visiting the headquarter of North East Postal Circle at Shillong on 5th and 6th July 2013 to review the modernization and development activities in North East Postal Circle particularly in Meghalaya Division.
Core Bank Solutions are to be implemented in post offices in North East Postal Circle in a phased manner. Shri P.K. Swain, Post Master General, North Eastern Region is working towards the implementation and smooth roll out of the Core Banking Scheme in Meghalaya and other North East states in North East Postal Circle.(SP News)
