Shillong, April 23The state government employees under the banner of the Meghalaya State Federal Council of the Meghalaya State Government Employees Federation (MSGEF) held its 12th federal council meeting at U Soso Tham Auditorium, here on Tuesday.
The annual federal council meeting organised by the Meghalaya State Federal Council of the Meghalaya State Government Employees Federation (MSGEF) was held in order to discuss and deliberate the functions and activities of the federation which was undertaken in the past and proposed to be taken up in the future for the best of their ability in serving the people in general.
Addressing the gathering as the chief guest Meghalaya chief Secretary WMS Pariat ensures that the grievances of the state government employees be taken care of in appropriate time and manner. Pariat also mentioned that the government is trying different measures to help the employees like organising pension adalat in all the districts of the state, the government is trying to expedite long pending pension cases.
Moreover, the Chief secretary appealed to all employees to perform their work diligently and consiously and urge to retrospect the maintenance of self discipline among themselves.
Meanwhile, during the business session, Secretary General report and Auited Report Accounts of MSGEF was placed after whihc there was a general discussion on issues of common concern where the house accepted for the same.
After threadbare discussion on various issues, the council unanimously resolved and adopted few resolutions for pursuing with the government for its redressal.
Besides, the federation decided to raise the age of superannuation from 58 to 60, medical advance amount sanctioned by the medical authority should be paid in full since the finance department usually allots only 75% of the total amount sanctioned, increase of winter allowances and Leave Travel Concession may be allowed to the employees during their active service career instead of granting it just before the time of retirement.
