Shillong, Nov 14: BSF School Shillong celebrated “Children’s Day “in BSF Headquarters Umpling on 14th Nov 2013 with enthusiasm at the culmination of three days programme. Literary activities in the form of essay writing competition followed by some fun games organized for the children.
Small children immensely enjoyed blind race, biscuit race, spoon race, cock fight, sack race and mathematics race. They day was celebrated with a cultural programme presented by the children. The School Chairman Sh Anil Kumar,IPS , Inspector General BSF Meghalaya frontier gave away the prizes to the children who won the prizes on different events. Sweets were also distributed by the Chairman to the Children.
In his address to children and school staff, the chairman stressed on the need of motivating the children for better performance in academics as well as in extracurricular activities . While motivating children he emphasized about character building and said ‘What they saw today, they will reap tomorrow ‘.
They should make their shoulder sturdy enough so that they may be able to share the responsibility of future’s India. Children especially small children were very happy on their day which is celebrated every year to mark the birth anniversary of Indian first Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru.(SP News)
