Shillong, Dec 19: With the State assembly election just around the corner, regional as well as national parties are gearing up to contest and win in the upcoming election 2013.
The state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in trying to garner support held its meeting at Wahiajer. The meeting called the Mandal Executive meeting of Nartiang was presided by the Mandal President of Nartiang Socrates Phawa.
During the meeting State President H S Syiemlieh discussed in length the ideology of the party and asked the members to reach the last man in the constituency. Citing example of Goa, Syiemlieh said that the Christian people of Goa have supported the BJP because they are convinced that the BJP can bring development in the State of Goa.
Besides, he also said that eight MLA’s from the party belong from the Christian faith and they too won from Christian dominated area in Goa. He said people in our State will also accept the BJP and defy the Congress propaganda against the party.
Also present at the meeting were the State General Secretary, State Mahila Morcha President and aspirant candidates for 1 Nartiang constituency Veecare Nicia Lamare State General Secretary Dipayan Chakraborty, State Mahila Morcha President Nisha Syimiong besides others. (SP News)
