CMJ Foundation sent legal notice to the DGP of Meghalaya

Shillong, June 27: The CMJ Foundation has served with the legal notice to the head of the police department government of Meghalaya Director general of Police Mr Prem Singh that they should vacate the university campus within seven days.

This legal notice was served by the SP Sharma advocate of the CMJ Foundation on their behalf and seeking compensation for unauthorized occupying the university premises.

The police should vacate the place within sevenday or they will  initiate legal and criminal proceedings against them.

Not only the DG but in the notice include  Additional Director General (CID) SK Jain, Assistant IGP (CID), J Momin and CID Investigation Officer C Thammar.

According to Sharma, no formal order was produced from the court to occupy the premises of the university. Any person who is  responsible for unauthorized occupation of properties of the university were  liable to be prosecuted and to pay the  damages to the university mention in the notice.

The notice also said that the university has not been able to function and it has to pay salary to its staff to the tune of Rs 7.5 lakh per month and it amounts to Rs 15 lakhs for the month of May and June.(SP News)
