Tura, May 16: Congress candidate Daryl William Momin congratulated
NPP’s Purno Agitok Sangma for winning Tura Lok Sabha seat. On the
outcome, where he was pitted against a political heavyweight, Momin
said, “It was a good fight, I gave the best, it is a public mandate,
we have to accept it”.
He opined that the margin was good, as he has secured close to 2 lakh
votes. Purno has won the election with about 40,000 votes.
“I am happy that I have managed to win people’s heart. I will continue
to work for Garo hills. You don’t have to be a winner to work for the
people”, said Momin, adding, “I just want that Purno Sangma will keep
up his promises and work for the betterment of Garo hills”.
On BJP spectacular results, Momin said, “By and large, people needed a
change, it was a big Modi wave, and they did good marketing and
publicity, which paid off. If they work for the people, we are happy”.(SP News)
