Shillong, Jan 15: Upset over the policy of the Congress party in regards to selection of candidates, scores of people gathered at the Bajengdoba playground to protest against the Congress.
The gathering was led by Former Education Minister, a; GHADC Deputy CEM, Bregady N Marak and MPCC representative Jogonsing Sangma
Citing the selection of the candidate is nothing more than nepotism that does not have the consent of the Block Congress Committee (BCC) and the people of the Bajengdoba constituency, these voters are at the opinion that candidate should be selected on the basis of grassroot level not on the likes and dislikes of the party high command.
It was also learnt that the three congress ticket aspirant which include Former Education Minister, Chemberlin M Sangma, GHADC Deputy CEM, Bregady N Marak and MPCC representative Jogonsing Sangma are against the party high command decision and decided to nominate Bregady N Marak to contest against the Congress official candidate Adolf Lu Hitler R Marak.
It may be mentioned here that soon after the Congress party declared the congress list of candidates all the office bearers, party functionaries, party workers and the supporters of the Bajengdoba BCC and 35 Polling Booth Units including the Bajengdoba Mahila Unit and the Bajengdoba Youth Congress Committee mass resigned and dissolved the same.(SP News)
