Shillong, April 29: On 29th April 2013, on specific input regarding smuggling of Hemp, BSF troops of BOP Gumaghat ex-73 Bn deployed in South West Khasi Hills distt of Meghalaya launched a special Ambush party and seized 10 Kg of Hemp worth Rs. 50,000/- (approx. fifty thousand only) near BP No 1203/7-S while it was being smuggled to Bangladesh.
t is pertinent to mention here that it has always been the endeavor of BSF to keep a strict vigil and deny any smuggling of psychotropic substances/ narcotics/alcohol to Bangladesh and in this task BSF is also seeking the help of BGB.
Besides above, BSF troops of Meghalaya Ftr, also seized 162 btls of liquor, 3.61 kg Hemp, FICN of value 35000/-, Forest Produce and other
/- (Rupees Two lacks Twenty Nine Thousand eight hundred and thirty five only) during the last week.
Seized item has been handed over to concerned department for further disposal and legal action as per law of the land.(SP News)
