Shillong, Oct 09: The Civil Society Women’s Organkation, CS WO, under the leadexship of its president 1rene.P.Hujon takes this oppommity to wngmtulate you for taking a definite stand demand for introduction of Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the state. Influx is a wncem of every individualbut the organization believe that an amicable solution to the problem would be in the best interest of the entire state than confrontation.
In the meantime, the CSWO (Irene faction) brought to the of the chief minister the acute hardship faced by business Establishment , Daily Wage Earners, commuters , the downtrodden people and those who are dependent on Tourism Industry, due to the ever increasing violence, Bandhs, Road Blockades, etc.
Had the pressure groups taken a democratic course of agitation, it would have been tolerated but the way public properties are being destroy and innocent citizen being victimized is a matter of great concern.Therefore , the government should take all possible step to contain the lawlessness.
We understand that the Inner Line Permit system would not be of any benefit to the people of the state. Rather, it is bound to bring about more hardship and would definitely check our economic growth.
As it stands today, Meghalaya is still badly in need of development in all respects so as to keep pace with other states of India considering that Meghalaya is not self sufficient in any way but totally dependent on other states for its requirements.
We are also saddened by the fact that the youth, who are future citizens of Meghalaya aretoday engaging in slander campaigns, violence and agitations thereby running their future and career when instead, they should be busy at their educational institutions, Schoold and Colleges, etc.
The CSWO (Irene faction) therefore request the government, under your able leadership, to take steps f a mitigating the sufferings of the people and to contain the lawlessness in the name of Inner Line Permit (SP News)
