Shillong, Feb 02: The outrageous claim of Meghalaya Police as reported in one of the English daily from Shillong, is not only strange but shocking not to speak about contemptuous. There is no clarification or follow up statement by the State DGP which indicates that the Police stick by what has been reported in the press. Passing the buck to the High Court as being the reasons for delay on action of the FIR filed way back in 2012 is not acceptable, since Police know well enough how to get the documents if they are serious enough to investigate. Score sheets of Mawkyrwat center, Baghmara Center, East Khasi Hills, Jowai, Amlarem, and many others have been so clearly tampered and even the xerox copy could have been sent for FSL which could prove the case.
CSWO stands for the benefit and interest of the general public and will leave no stone unturned to get to the bottom of the conspiracy hatched by those in high office.
The Hon’ble High Court has given a clarification stating that the original documents are lying with the CBI and this being the position then the Police are dilly dallying on some pretext or the other, obviously to protect those in power like the former Education Minister including other Ministers and some MLAs including the present Forest Minister, Deputy Chief Minister (RC Laloo). Honest Officers are made scapegoat while the culprits are left out.
CSWO demands that those involved should be brought to task as they have been playing with the lives of so many deserving candidates.
CSWO also demands and request other organizations and likeminded persons to come out in the open and force the Government to take actions on those involved.
CSWO is also in surprise as to how the documents are not available with the Police and under what circumstances the High Level Committee conducted the enquiry. The question is whether HLC conducted the enquiry without the records or simply on the basis of the report of CBI.
What goes to show is that the Government is playing hide and seek, clearly keeping an eye on the ensuing election to parliament.
CSWO also like to question the roles of the Chief Law Officer of the State (AG) including the State Counsels, so far the statement of the Police is concerned whereby it was reported that “We had submitted a request to the Court to provide the original documents related to the score sheet of the eligible candidates.
We are yet to receive any response from the court” It appears that they all suffer from inaction when it comes to action against the powerful in Governance and thereby putting the Government to embarrassment said the president of the CSWO Agnes Kharshiing.(SP News)
