New Delhi 25: Directorate of Information and Public Relations today organized the cultural e
vening at Lal Chowk Theatre, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi during the ongoing India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2013,
Meghalaya Minister for Information and Public Relations Mr. A.L. Hek graced the occasion as the Chief Guest in the presence of Mr. J. Dkhar, Mr. R. Syngkon and Mr. S. Mukhim Parliamentary Secretaries, Mr. U.K. Sangma, Secretary, DONER, Mr. H.M. Shangpliang, Director of Information and Public Relations, Smti. S. R. Marak, Joint Resident Commissioner, Meghalaya House and many other officials from the State.
Cultural artists from different parts of the State mesmerized the audience during the show by performing the lively cultural dances and songs for showcasing the rich cultural diversity of the State.
Later, Information and Public Relations minister and parliamentary secretaries visited the Meghalaya Pavilion at IITF 2013 and interacted with the officials and entrepreneurs participated in the trade fair.
It may be mentioned that the Departments participating in the India International Trade Fair-2013 at the Meghalaya Pavilion included Agriculture, Horticulture, Commerce & Industries, Tourism, Forest, Soil & Water Conservation, Cooperative Societies, MHHDC, MKVIB, Fishery and Directorate of Information and Public Relations as the nodal Department. Apart from Government Departments there are 20 entrepreneurs drawn from various parts of the State participated in the Fair for promotion and showcasing of their indigenous products and also tourism potential displayed during the event.(SP News)
