Dalai Lama willing to go back to Tibet if situation improves

Shillong, Feb 05: Expressing his willingness to go to Tibet, the Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama said that 99 per cent of the Tibetan people are waiting for him there.

“Nobody knows when but 99 per cent of the Tibetan people are waiting for me,” Dalai Lama said in Shillong.

Even he maintains that he is ready to go but the Chinese Government does not allow him.

The Spiritual leader who is in exile for over five decades said, “When Tibetan people ask me to visit Tibet I say I am ready to go to Tibet it’s my home but Chinese Government not allow.”

He however, expressed concern that he may be sent to prison if he visit Tibet. The 14th Dalai Lama who is on a three day tour to Meghalaya alleged that the Chinese hardliners calls him as  splitist and demon and if he visit Tibet he may have to land in prison.

“So Chinese hardliners they accused me even today as splitics  but whole world knows we are not seeking independence, Chinese people also knows it, “ the leader said adding,

“Sometimes some Chinese they also urged me that you should return that I told them your official hardliner describe me as a demon and  so basically demon’s palace will be prison.”

He added, “ So political situation this moment describes me as splitist and demon so if I return not much use, perhaps I may get more relaxed in prison. No work but not much use  Not only lost my own freedom but also waste of time.”

According to him, Tibet remains to be a unified country and too much of suppression from China makes more unity among Tibetans. He stated that the first invasion by China in Tibet was made in the year 1950 and three resolutions were also passed in United Nations in following years but it did not affected anything.

“Too much suppression helped Tibetan to live with unity,” the 14th Dalai Lama said.

Stating that there is a possibility for agreed mutual solution, he said they should look forward as some kind of Union is possible.

Dalai Lama maintained that China should implement all rights mentioned for Tibet mentioned in their constitution even as he stated that there is an indication of Chinese people supporting the stand of Tibet.

The Dalai Lama also added that the population of Chinese in the capital of Tibet Lhasa is increasing rapidly so that it would become a Chinese city.

He also claimed the situation in China is slowing improving and in next few  year a significant change is expected in China’s approach. (SP News)
