Shillong, Sept 24: The denial by the DC to provide space at the additional parking lot will not deter the women from assembling there, as we have a right to protest near where the non-functional Governmental institutions are, and where the representatives of the people sit.
The Women NGO’s will only listen now to the voice of the people and not to puppets of a dictatorial Government. It is absurd that we cannot, peacefully protest, near the Government institutions.
The Government knows that we have always had meetings at the Addl Sect parking and there was never any untoward incident. So we will go ahead and sit and demonstrate at that place or those in Governance should provide a place at the State Central Library.
The Government should realize that Government servants do not own these places and they are paid out of public money to serve the people well. The failing system will tell all, and the time has come to show what true governance is and what dictatorship is. The people tomorrow shall decide where the venue will be.(SP News)
