Guwahati April 21: The polupar Assamese singer Zubi Garg continues singing Hindi songs in the on going Bohag Bihu functions besides ULFA,s threat against singing Hindi songs during Bihu functions.
The threat came to the singer on 17th April besides the ULFA had earlier issued a press release before Bihu celebration began banning hindi song in the ongoing Bihu celebration.
Zubin Garg, however refuses to oblige the ULFA ban, terming as ban on freedom of expression by artists.He siad, he will keep performing hindi numbers, those numbers that are his own and that has helped him gain more popularity, like songs “YA ALI” and few others.
Even secirity has been provide to the singer after the ULFA threat. There are people who are supporting the Zubin and at the same time the ULFA,s appeal to refrain for singing hindi songs during Bihu only.Assam Chief Minister, Traun Gogoi, said that ULFA keeps on threatening and one should go by their lines.
I have sung around 15,000 songs and i have spent 20 years in this music industry, and no one can order me as to what to sing and what not”Says Zubin Garg said.(SP News)
