Diabetic is a common disease which people has little information: Ampareen

Shillong, August 11: Dr M. Ampareen Lyngdoh the Hon’ble Minister for Urban Affairs, Government of Meghalaya flag off  for free Eye and Diabetic Retinopathy Screening which was launch for the state of Meghalaya by Bansara Eve Care Centre with Society for Promotion of Eye Care and Sight (SPECS) incolaboration with  World Diabetes foundation(W DF) at MUDA.

Addressing the gathering as Chief Guest, Dr M. Ampareen Lyngdoh, Minister for Urban Affairs. said that diabetic is a common disease which causes great effect to general public.People are unaware of the disease and had little information about it.

The minister  congratulated the team and wishes them the very best for their effortless work, which they were doing for the betterment of the people in the state. I’he guest of honour Dr B khongsit, Ex- Join Director & Adviser of Ophthalmology, Government  of Meghalaya, informed about timely check-up, and health scenario of the state as awarcncss to the people.

Bansara Eye Care Centre has been collaborating with various Government Departments, NGOs over the years to prevent avoidable blindness in the state by organizing various camps. This year car together with Society for Promotion of Eye Care and Sight (SPECS) and World  Diabetic , it has launched the  Retinopathy Management Project in the state, to create awareness. training, provide comprehensive screening, investigation using state of the art. Investigating tools and also provide treatment for Diabetic Retinopathy.

Other dignitaries who are present for the programme were Dr. Jennifer Basaiawmoit, Medical Director of Bansara Eye Care Center, Dr. Saurabh Sarma, Medical Retina Specialist,Mr. Sanjay Goyal, Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills, Shillong and Others.(SP News)
