Shillong,Nov,01:In inviting a reference to subject cited above I am directed to say that letter on the same matter was receive by the undersigned 30th of October, 2013 , from the president, CSWO and to say that no act are missing are law department and all the original act since the inception of the state are pass by the state legislature are intact and hence question of filling of FIR not arise. The RTI applicant was allowed to inspect the original act in person and copies of requested were made available to her by the PIO.
It is not known now why the applicant is bent on having gazette copies of this Act, when original copies was sign by speaker and governor President were made available to her .it may be mention to here that, only 400copies of gazette notification of each act are publish ang printed by the directorate of printing and stationery , Meghalaya and the same are naturally bound to get, exhausted after lapse of time . The department to tide over the shortage of gazette copies, have been printing collection of act every year through the directorate of printing and stationery.
Meghalaya so that the same could be made available as when necessary depending on availabiolity pf copies .The collection of Act was also made available to the RTI applicant by the PIO. The Department has also now started to upload all the state acts and rules in the Government of Meghalaya website .The modus of operandi of directing the head of department to file an FIR by the applicant is highly questionable.(SP News)
