TURA, August 16: There should be more activities that facilitates behavioral modification among the youth thereby reducing the occurrence of adolescents being led astray by anti social elements maintained Gambegre Legislature Saleng A Sangma during the conclusion of a competitive two wheeler rally ‘Dirt Endeavor’ organised by the Garo Hills Adventure Motorsport Association (GAMA) yesterday at Chandmary playground. ‘Dirt Endeavor’ which also included a four wheel skill demonstration was organised to revive the activities of GAMA.
Commending the association for organising the rally Sangma said that such activities would go a long way in keeping the youth at bay from trouble and anti social elements. Lamenting the trend of youth being led astray by anti social elements Sangma informed that young adolescents including girls were being influenced to indulge in dacoity by anti social elements even in his own constituency at Gambegre in West Garo Hills. such activities will go a long way in reducing the occurrences of youth being led astray Sangma stated and urged GAMA to frequently organize similar activities in the future.
The winner of the competitive two wheel rally were Daniel M Sangma and Baldano K Sangma representing Tura Adventure Club while the first and Second Runners Up were Haring K Sangma and Janir Ch Momin representing Tura Adventure Club and Balbo P Marak and Praman R Marak representing Team Mikkimrado respectively. The winners were awarded Trophies accompanied with certificates and cash prizes.
Earlier in the day participants of the two wheel rally drove around Tura exhibiting their skills. South Tura Legislature John Leslee K Sangma and Saleng A Sangma were also engaged in a mock cycle race to entertain the gathering. (SP News)
