Shillong, Feb 26: A meeting of the District Level Task Force for Pulse Polio Immunisation Programme, 2014 was held on 26th February, 2014 under the chairmanship of Shri S Goyal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner.
The main purpose of the programme is to eradicate Polio in the District in particular and also in the State and country as a whole. Detail programmes such as implementation process, preparation and Logistic arrangement was discussed for conducting 2nd round Pulse Polio Immunisation programme from 10th to 12thMarch, 2014 in the entire East Khasi Hills District.
It was also stressed to make proper arrangement for coverage especially in the High risk areas due to migrant population, chronic refusal and slums settlements. The committee also appeals to all parents, church leaders, village headmen and social organizations to provide support and cooperation in sending their children to the Pulse Polio Booth for immunization during the program.
