Dr Mukul sought the cooperation of the people in bringing development to the region

Ampati August 08:  Meghalaya Chief Minister, Dr Mukul Sangma today inaugurated the Multi Facility Centre at Nirghini village under Betasing C&RD Block near Ampati.

Addressing the gathering Dr Sangma stated that development is being brought to the state in a convergence mode with an aim to lift the living standards of the people by promoting various sustainable livelihood generation activities through the government’s flagship programme, the Integrated Basin Development and Livelihood generation Programme (IBDLP).

He informed that initiatives are being taken and commitments  made by the government to fulfill the aims and aspirations of the people and said that sufficient funds have been received from the central Government for developmental activities throughout the state. He sought the cooperation of the people in bringing further development to the region.

Dr Mukul said that it is one of the efforts of the Government to bring governance and administration much closer to the people to ensure that all the schemes and programmes of the Government are effectively implemented and  widely benefited.

The Multi-Facility Centre had been constructed by the Border Areas Development Department at a total cost of Rs. 30 lacs under the Special Plan Assistance Scheme. (SP News)
