Shillong, August 23: The Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District Mr Sanjay Goyal said that any drilling of ground water with out permission is illegal. All house owner has to get permission if they whish to do so.
Speaking to SP News Agency, the Deputy Commissioner said that as the Chairman of the water committee I have written to the Chief Engineer Public health engineer to survey the number of tube well in the capital city, shillong so that they will be able to know the numbers.
The committee has received a lot of application but before they give permission the team will inspect and fine out whether the permission seek by the house owner are genuine or not. It dose not mean that once they applied they will get the permission.
During the inspection they will see weather the owner who has applied for drilling tube well has any water connection through PHE or others sources of water connection to his house if the house is already connected with the PHE line they will not grant permission.
The Deputy Commissioner directed to all house owner who has already having their tube well should come and register with the committee for regularization if they did not comply with action will be taken against them.(SP News)
