Dympep will attend the 68thUN General Assembly to be held in New York, USA

Shillong, Sept 15: The Meghalaya Peoples Human Rights Council (MPHRC) Chairman and Parmanent Representative to the United Nations,  Dino D.G Dympep will attend the 68thUN General Assembly to be held in New York, USA.

During the UN General Assembly, Dympep will participate in many interactive forums such as the High Level Political Forum on integrating human rights, including the right to development, into the post-2015 sustainable development framework.

This unique event will hear a range of current proposals from the human rights community worldwide on the Post-2015 Development Agenda, reflect on existing challenges, and seek to promote dialogue on human rights standards, including the right to development, as a normative and operational framework for the post-2015 commitments.

The UN General Assembly will be an opportune moment for leaders from governments, UN agencies, civil society organizations, social movements, academia, and other major development cooperation organizations to gather together and share their visions and perspectives on a transformative sustainable development agenda aligned with human rights and the right to development.

Prior to his departure to New York, Dympep will also participate in the 24th Session of the UN Human Rights Council currently going on in Geneva Switzerland. During the Session Dympep will take part in the special discussion the agenda of Indigenous Peoples access to Justice including the presentation of the Special Report and findings of the Human rights Situation in Asia by the UN Special Rapporter on the Rights of the Indigenous Peoples  Prof. James Anaya which will be be adopted during the Session.(SP News)
