Shillong, July 18: The Excise Department is targeting to collect revenue of Rs.161.69 cores from the sale of liquored in this financial year 2013-2014, which will be an increase of 10 % from the previous year.
Sources told SP News Agency that the department will take all necessary steps along with the police department curb the country made liquored particularly in the capital city Shillong.
The Excise Department will soon revamp the system of granting license which will streamline the system so that will increased the collection of revenue. At present the department will issued license for the wine shop and bar base on the recommendation of the locality.
The excise department in the last financial year has collected Rs.150.88 cores, the target that was set for this financial year is just 10% from the previous year.(SP News)
