Shillong Nov 07: The federal Council of Ri War Mihngi in their meeting held at Dawki unanimously decided to opposed the draft tenancy bill proposed by the government to tackle influx.
The council make it clear that the people in Meghalaya own the land no the government, there fore the words landlord dose not suit the people of Meghalaya, the people of Meghalaya they are the land owner not the landlord. These conclusions come after their trade bare discussion on the draft bill circulated by the government.
The Council also urged the state government to call the pro-ILP group for dialogue; the council pointed out that confrontation will only lead to more problems. To solve any conflicting issued only discussion will bring solution
The council also took up the decision that they want that the state government should implement the ILP in the state. At the same time the Council condemn the statement made by the Mylliem MLA against the Rangbah shnong.
The meeting was chair by the Chairman Peter Rynjah, others organization who were present in the meeting include KJWA and the MPHRC. (SP News)
