Shillong, July 03: Honouring the successful students who fared well in various examinations, the Sohra United Sports Social and Cultural Club organised a felicitation ceremony which was held at Community Hall Khliehshnong Sohra recently.

The felicitation ceremony was organised with an aimed to encourage the students from Sohra Area to set their minds focus on their goal and to pursue with their academics for future endeavours.

Speaking as Chief Guest on the occasion, local MLA/MDC of Sohra Titos Chyne said that the good performance of these young boys and girls is a matter of pride for the people of the area. “Sohra United is a performing Club and this felicitation is the right step taken by the Club to encourage our future generation,” he added.

Those who were felicitated included Nangkiewbor Diengdoh who secured the 9th Position in HSSLC (Commerce), Hamekisan Nongkynrih at 13th Position in SSLC, Aphilarisa Diengdoh at 18th Position in SSLC, Bivan Plielad Chyne at 19th Position in SSLC and Barida S. Shullai at 8th Position in SSLC 2008.

During the programme, the Club also felicitated Jefferson Nongrud and Emerson Nongrud, the two football players of the State team who won the Coca Cola Cup 2013 of the National Under 15 Sub-Junior Football Tournament held in Mumbai recently.

Also present on the occasion included Cyril Diengdoh SDO Sohra Civil Sub-Division, A. Deb, the Works Manager ka MCCL, P. Tariang Rangbah Shnong Khliehshnong Sohra, K.
