Tura, Nov 05: At around 11am in the morning today suspected Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) ambushed the police at Banjangkona Village near Sibbari Gasuapara . In the ambushed fine police personal were reportedly killed on the spot.
The five police personal were identified as Hawaldar Dandiram Marak BNC 607, Bipul Rabha BNC 741, Marshanstar Nongdhar of 5th platoon of 3rd MLP, Camp Baghmara were killed in an ambushed. The others two belong to the West Garo Hills District police force, they were identified as Lyngkhlem who is the druiver and Rakki Sangma a ub Constable.
The Militant took away three 3 SLR Riffle one AK47 and one Insas Riffle from the police. At this time the police were on their way from Baghmara to Tura but while reaching Banjagona the militant arms with sophisticated weapon fire at the police party.
Till filling of the report police has rush to the area and cumbing operation is on to nap the militant. Additional forces were sent to help the police in South Garo Hills.(SP News)
