Shillong, Aug 24: In its endeavour to tab,nurtured and encourage young talented artist in the field of painting, for the first time in the state Raj Bhavan organised an art exhibition on Saturday.
Considering the rich talents prevalent among the youth of the state, Governor of Meghalaya Dr Krishan Kant Paul while talking to SP Nesws said that such an attempt is to promote the artist in the state.
“Such event is a platform for the local youths to showcase their talents, where they can display their talents which could be further admired and represented from the state in an international level,”Dr Paul said.
Seeing the need that there shoule be more focus in this field of art, the Governor stated that next year we would try and make ‘art exhibition’ an annual affair.
Besides, First lady of the state who is also the Secretary to the President of India, Omita Paul said that Shillong yet being small has a lot of talent.
Earlier, speaking to EC, Regional Director of ICCR, Munish Singh said such events will broadcast many talents of the state.
“Such events will bring out many talents of the state and give them a platform to showcase their talents, ” Singh added.(SP News)
