Shillong, May 13: On 11th May 2013, on specific input, BSF troops of BOP Gumaghat ex-73 Bn deployed in South West Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya apprehended four Bangladeshi smugglers namely Sukar Ali aged 48 yrs S/o Sanveban Ali, Pahar Ali aged 35 yrs S/O Fakir Ali, Md Sahajan aged 58 yrs S/O Md Islam and Novel Ali aged 48 yrs S/O Modur Ali all r/o vill- Maqswdpur, Po- Maktagarh, Dist Sunamganj, Bangladesh near BP No. 1204/MP, while they were trying to exfiltrate from India to Bangladesh. During search, party recovered 11 Nos Wooden Phanhal (plough) and 04 axe from their possession.
Besides above, BSF troops of Meghalaya Ftr, also seized 22 Nos of Cattle, 401 btls of liquor, Forest Produce and other contraband items of the estimated cost of Rs. 7,87,585/- (Rupees Seven lacks Eighty seven Thousand Five hundred and eighty five only) during the last week.
Apprehended persons and seized items have been handed over to concerned departments for further disposal and legal action as per law of land. (SP News)
