Shillong, May 14: Four KSU members today surrendered before the Superintendent of Police East Khasi Hills District, on being produced by the Executive Member of the Central Body of KSU for their involvement with the burning of a government vehicle (Bolero- ML 01 6113) allotted to the Divisional Forest Officer of the Forest department, R Nainama Mallai at Forest Colony.
These four persons identified as KSU Mawlai Nonglum unit sports secretary Beneslaus Khyriem alias Malos (21), KSU Nongkwar president Biangbor Lyngdoh Paliar (29), KSU Mawlai Phudmuri assistant organiser Rapborlang Nongrum (27) and ex-member of KSU Mawdatbaki unit Kitboklang Khongwar alias Kit (20).
Police informed that prior to their intention to surrender; the persons were earlier identified by the police as being involved in the arson case. “Being bailable sections of law, they were released on bail”, police sources said.(SP News)
