Fr Parankimalil pointed out Tura need a coaching institutions for administrative services

TURA, June 01: : The West Garo Hills Officer Club on Friday felicitated the fourteen SSLC and one HSSLC toppers from the district at an elaborate function organized at the Social Mobilization, Experimentation and Learning Center at Dakopgre near here.

President of the West Garo Hills Officer Club and Deputy Commissioner Pravin Bakshi commending the toppers stated that it was imperative that parents and teachers continuously guide their wards lest they fall prey to unwanted influence. Dwelling on the importance of freedom of choice Bakshi urged the toppers to tread carefully while choosing their careers and cautioned the toppers not to be influenced by peer pressure. On behalf of the Officer Club, Bakshi later felicitated the toppers with a cash award of Rs 5000/- accompanied by a certificate and a bouquet. Bakshi also released a book titled The Secrets of High Achievers authored by Fr John Parankimalil.

Highlighting the absence of coaching institutions for administrative services in the region Tura Don Bosco College Principal Fr John Parankimalil (Fr Johny) urged the Officer Club to decide and work on the matter with the Silesian Fathers. Fr Johny commended the toppers and thanked the parents and teachers who played a vital role in their success.

Some of the best schools in the state are in Tura he stated and talked of his experiences as an educator. During the felicitation he gave a presentation on goal setting and career planning and interacted with the toppers through various exercises testing their aptitude and logic. He later urged the toppers to think out of becoming  exceptional leaders.

Others who spoke a few words on the occasion were Sherwood Secondary School Headmaster Tyrone D Brass, Aeroville Secondary School Headmistress S B Sangma, St Xavier Secondary School Headmistress, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ambrose Ch Marak and EAC Zenithsky Sangma among others.(SP News)
