Shillong, Sept 22: Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committe has strongly condemned the irresponsible statement of the UDP MLA Dr Jemino Mawthoh ,when he mentioned that they had ‘no intention to topple the state government ‘but ‘simply want a change in the leadership”
The MPCC wanted to remind Dr Mawthoh that to topple the Government , one must have the requisite member of MLAs with him. At the same time ,The leadership issue is an internal issue of the Indian National Congress and the UDP has no business to talk about it and he is advised not to strain his brain on the internal matters of congress.
On Dr Mawthoh’s Uttereness against Hon’ble Chief Minister as ‘Irresponsible” Non committal” the MPCC would like to ,reaffirm that Party’s commitment to address the core issue of ‘influx” and illegal immigration” and the measure already been taken to the effect are visible.
It is reiterated that the party is duty bound to implement the promise and the pledges made in its manifestos, which is very clear and transparent .Therefore, the measures been taken are only in conformity with the solemn commitment.
It is further informed that the Indian National Congress has the productive of ensuing the implementation of the promises made to the people and accordingly, the Manifesto implementation committee has been constituted at the level of the All India Congress Committee.
The party assures the people of the state that hte Government shall place more effective and comprehensive mechanism to address the issue of influx and illegal immigration.
On the comments of the Hon’ble Chief Minister that his “colleagues are unhappy with the style of functioning but they do not come out to the open”Meghalaya PCC wants to enlighten that the recent meeting of the Congress -led MUA-II Legislature Party held on 18th September 2013,expressed total faith and loyalty in the undisputed leadership of Dr. Mukul sangma as the Chief Minister of Meghalaya said the press statement of the MPCC sign by the Genenral Secretary Polycrab K Marak genenral secretary of the MPCC.
