Shillong December 30: On the 29th Dec’ 2012, at about 1430 hrs, on specific information about the movement of GNLA cadre, BSF troops of BOP Karaigora, Ex 73 Bn deployed in South West Khasi Hills distt of Meghalaya alongwith Meghalaya Police carried out joint operation in the general area of karaigora and nabbed one female GNLA cadre identified as Kumari M Sangma aged 20 yrs, w/o Chota Marak, r/o Vill- lower Puksora, Ps- Ranikor, Distt- South West Khasi Hills (Meghalaya) along with her child.
Subsequently, on the lead information provided by the female cadre, at about 2030 hrs, the Special Ops party apprehended one GNLA cadre identified as Chota N Sangma aged 30yrs, r/o vill- Lowar Puksora, PS Ranikhor Distt South West Khasi Hills and one GNLA (OGW) Rot N Mena Sangma aged 20 yrs W/o Thison A Sangma r/o Vill- Parchringh, Po- Ranikhor, Distt South West Khasi Hills. The Ops party also recovered one .22 mm Revolver and 6 Nos GNLA Demand Notes from their possession.
During preliminary questioning, all the cadres confessed that they were GNLA cadres and were involved in extortion and other militant activities in South West Khasi Hills distt.
Besides above, BSF troops of Meghalaya Ftr also seized 15 nos cattle, liquor and other contraband items of the estimated value of Rs. 3,52,000/- ( Rupees Three lacs, fifty-two thousand only) during the last week.
The apprehended persons and seized items have been handed over to the concerned police station for necessary action as per the law of the land. (SP News)
