Shillong, Sept 26: The state government views the escalation of violent and communal incident over the last few days with serious concern. While condemning the cowardly attacked using crude petrol bomb on private properties and business establishment by vested interest and criminal element in the strongest possible terms.
Government reiterated to deal with such case with a firms hand in keeping with its constitutional obligation. To ensure peace and a secure environment to all the citizen of the state and 49 person arrested in connection with cases already registered.
While the issue of influx and illegal infiltration is being address in a timely and integrated manner through legislative measure and strengthening thought the existing mechanism, the state government is shortly going to engage public consultation to ensure that the core problem are appropriately analyzed and adequately address.
In doing so, a reasonable period of time is required and the interest group should understand this consideration and adopt a patient attitude. The occurrence incident of violence will only jeopardize the life and property of the citizen and create unnecessary tension in the mind of the people.
The government takes this opportunity to appeal to all the citizens in the state to firmly denounce such criminal and anti social act and to assist the law enforcing machinery of the state, said the government press statement.(SP News)
