Shillong, August 01: The non governmental organization (NGO) in their rally at Madan Malki with one voce express that they will not allowed the government to acquired land at Tynring area for the New Shillong Township. The Government should develop the rural areas if they fill that development is for the people.
Among the prominent speaker to speak at the public rally the President of the FKJGP, Joe Marwein said that they will not allowed the government to acquired land since they government will allot these land to big companies and this will bring influx to the state.
Angela rangad said that if the government so concern about the development, it should develop first the rural area since they are still lucking in all basic amenities like, school, hospital.
The MDC of Jaiwa Adelbert Nongrum said that even the District Council has the power to protect the land. He alleged that the present government let by Dr Mukul Sangma is police is against the people.
The General Secretary of the KSU, Auguster Jyrwa said that the union Condemn the government action, the policy of the government will only bring people from out side the state to the state. The Government should implement the ILP to protect the interest of the indigenous people.
Many others speaker expresses that the government should concentrate on the development of agricultural in the area which will help the people of that area.
After the meeting they have pass three resolution, demanding that the state government should immediately stop the land acquisition for the New Shillong Township.
The District council should take up this matter if the District Council fail to do so they will topple the present executive Committee led by P N Syiem.The Government should cancel all land given to IAS officer in Mawdiangdiang area.(SP News)
