Governor of Meghalaya called upon all those practitioners to abide by the three pillars of human society

Shillong, June 5Member of the Shillong Bar Association: The Shillong Bar Association, Shillong celebrated its centenary celebration at So So Tham Auditorium, Shillong today. The Governor of Meghalaya, Mr. R S Mooshashary was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

In his speech, Mr. R S Mooshashary said that lawyers are the warriors of criminal justice administration and have a duty to improve the functioning of the justice delivery system thereby ensuring proper justice to the people.

He called upon all those practitioners to abide by the three pillars of human society -justice, equality and liberty in order to become a truthful, humane, perceptive andcompassionate lawyer.

Chief Patron and Ex-Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Mr. B M Lanong lauded the achievement of completing 100 years and called upon them to remind themselves of the rights and privileges of the people while discharging their duties. He also welcomed the directives of the Supreme Court and High Court which provides justice and protection to the people.

During the function the dignitaries lighted the centenary lamp which was followed by observance of 1 minute silence in memory of the erstwhile members. Earlier in the function the President of the Shillong Bar Association, Shillong Mr. C P padhaya  welcoming the gathering also highlighted on the background of the association and the immense contribution of the associated members.
